07.12.2009The won the great Lot

The prize, a set of HAMEG measuring instruments valued more than 10,000 €, was awarded to the Faculty of Electrical/Electronic Engineering of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.

In the presence of representatives of the Test & Measurement manufacturer HAMEG Instruments of Mainhausen, Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Lauffs, Head of the Electronic Components, Circuit Design and Sensor Systems Laboratory, unpacked the parcels on 20 Nov. 2009, the winner’s smile on his face. The smile was justified because he won a set of measurement instruments costing more than 10,000 E for his university.

For the first time this year, HAMEG sponsored universities. „It is our intention to promote science, research and teaching at German universities“ Thomas Modenbach, Sales Manager, said while handing the donation over. HAMEG had contacted 115 deans of all electrical/electronic teaching and research faculties in the country inviting them to participate in the lottery. The winner’s lot was drawn by the students of the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Faculty of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. The HMP2030 power supply, the HMO series oscilloscope, the HMF2550 arbitrary function generator as well as the highlight, the HMS3010 spectrum analyzer, complete Prof. Dr. Lauffs laboratory’s state of the art equipment.

For the professor winning the prize caused twofold joy: „Now we can equip our students still better for their project and Bachelor work“, he said. At age 14, 40 years ago, he received a „HAMEG HM 107“ his „My first HAMEG“, as a Christmas gift. This oscilloscope is still in the lab and performs its duty. „This was important for deciding on my career!“ he said.
