Press announcement: HMO Series extended
HAMEG Instruments compliments the successful HMO Series of DSO/MSO Oscilloscopes, focusing now on the Entry-Level bandwidths between 70 and 200MHz.
HAMEG introduces new entry level DSO/MSO

The HMO3524/3522/2524, introduced around 2 years ago, excel due to the Mixed-Signal-Oscilloscope upgrade capability (even post-sale) and the hardware-accelerated trigger & decode functionality, supporting I2C, SPI, UART/RS-232 protocols. With the new HMO derivatives, this enhanced feature-set will be now available to customers with budgets starting at just € 1,150.
The new instruments will be available in 2- and 4 channel versions with 70, 100, 150, and 200MHz bandwidths. All models will provide 1GSa/s sampling rate and 1Mpt of memory per channel, which can be combined to 2GSa/s and 2Mpts respectively.
All new HMO’s are MSO-ready when used with the logic probe (option HO3508) in order to analyze 8 digital channels. With the existing option HOO10, two independent serial protocols I2C, SPI and/or UART/RS-232 can be analyzed, hardware accelerated and time-synchronous. Both analogue and digital channels may be used with this option. The HMO722 and the HMO724 are therefore the only 70 MHz Mixed-Signal-Oscilloscopes on the market performing serial-bus analysis.
In a number of applications, the analysis of a single serial bus is fully sufficient. Using the analogue channels combined with option HOO11 - delivered free of charge in the year of introduction - is the appropriate solution for analysing multiple buses. Already with the 2 channel models, 3-wire buses such as SPI can be analyzed, making use of the external trigger input (assuming an additional probe is used).
With the new HMO’s, covering the price range of € 1,150...2,180, HAMEG is the only manufacturer in the world to offer a true sensitivity of 1 mV/div., combined with the lowest intrinsic noise levels and an exceptional large memory capture of up to 2Mpts - unique in this class. Features like connectable mathematics, integrated FFT, filter functions and a Pass/Fail test based on masks also come as standard. Three USB ports for memory sticks, printers, and remote control, as well as the versatile internal signal source providing square wave, parallel and serial data streams for test purposes compliment the feature-set. Users will appreciate the whispering fan of the instruments during continuous daily use.
Unique in the oscilloscope industry is the integrated Component Tester of the new HMO instruments, which enables the verification of active and passive components even built into a circuit, and the Virtual Screen function which allows up to 20 div. vertically.
4 channel 70MHz (HMO724) and 100MHz (HMO1024) instruments will be delivered by the end of May 2011, and the remaining instruments will follow in July.
