RS-232 Allocation (ID #629) The HAMEG RS-232 interface is arranged as a 9-pole D-SUB jack. This bidirectional interface is intended to send and receive setup parameters, data and remote commands from a PC (serial port) to the HAMEG device.
A connection to the PC can be established with a 9-pole, shielded (1:1 wired) cable with D-SUB plugs on each end.
The PIN assignment:

| 2 | Tx Data (Data from the HAMEG device to the PC) | | 3 | Rx Data (Data from the PC to the HAMEG device) | | 7 | CTS Ready to send | | 8 | RTS Ready to receive | | 5 | Ground (Reference potential connected with HAMEG device (safety class I) and power cable to the grounding conductor) | | 9 | +5 V Supply voltage for external devices (max. 400 mA) | | | | | | | | HO820: | You don't have +5V on Pin 9 (Pin 9 unconnected)! |

The maximum voltage at the terminals Tx, Rx, RTS and CTS is ±12V.
The standard RS-232 paramteters are:
Oscilloscopes:
8-N-2 (8 Data bits, no parity bit, 2 stop bits)
Programmable Measuring Instruments:
8-N-1 (8 Data bits, no parity bit, 1 stop bit)
RTS/CTS Hardware protocol: None.
These parameters may be changed with the device.
