HAMEG Power Supplies
Increase of mobile equipment sales pushes demand for battery tests – Sales of laptops, mobile phones, and MP3 players meanwhile far exceeded a billion units per year. Recurring reports about quality problems concerning the incorporated batteries continue to push the demand for standard measuring instruments for sample tests, production and re-qualification tests further upwards...

Modern Power Supplies – an investment for the future
Power supplies are mainly destined to supply voltage and current to components or subassemblies. In laboratories and, in general, in any design area requirements change frequently, so do the requirements on power supplies. When selecting power supplies, the four most important criteria are...

Minimizing measurement errors by properly using the right probes
When using an oscilloscope, the most ubiquitous measurement instrument in electronics design, quite frequently the importance of the correct connection to the signal is underestimated. There is no question that e.g. the high data rate of 5 GBit/s of USB 3.0 requires the use of special probes and methods of connection...

Mixed-Signal-Oscilloscopes with serial bus analysis at a fair price
In the past years, electronics performed a great leap forward.
Yesterday, individual functions – e.g. the control of the motor of a washing machine – were realized employing discrete power electronics , today, an embedded system takes over the control, far beyond just motor control.

Measurement of power and energy using the combined mathematical functions of the oscilloscope
The new series of Digital Storage Oscilloscopes HMO of HAMEG Instruments features a deep acquisition memory of 2 MB per channel, a sampling rate of up to 4 MS/s and a bandwidth of 350 MHz. These specifications recommend these instruments for the analysis of dynamic switching signals in power circuits, e.g. inside mains power supplies.

New perspectives using spectrum analysis
Change of paradigms in the measuring instruments industry - The widespread use of wireless applications as well as the requirements of low EMI emission from state-of-theart digital circuits caused a new thinking in laboratories and test departments. While the signal analysis in the time domain is well established, spectrum analysis is now demanding its place on the lab bench.

HAMEG Oscilloscopes
Oscilloscopes cannot be replaced by any other measuring instruments …
... because only oscilloscopes give a full representation of the measuring
signal.
... because only oscilloscopes display signals versus time.
The importance of waveform representation becomes obvious when comparing oscilloscopes with alternatives to oscilloscopes: multimeters and frequency counters. Both offer a much higher measuring accuracy, but the lack of waveform representation may obscure erroneous measurements.

HAMEG Spectrum Analyzers
To many, spectrum analysis appears to be a type of "secret knowledge" dominated by only few specialists. One might acquire this impression from reading the available literature on this topic. It is full of theories, integrals, differential equations as far as the eye can see. The practical engineer’s central interest, though, basically focuses on two questions: "How does it work and what can I do with it?"

EMI pre-compliance measurements
Do you intend to market new electrical or electronically controlled apparatus in the EWU (EU plus Island, Liechtenstein, Norway)? If so, did you , in the course of design, continuously check for compliance with the emi norms applicable to your product ? Or were you forced to redesign your circuit extensively after failing the first emi test, practically starting anew? Please read the following article for information about how to prevent such disagreeable “disturbances” of your next project.

HAMEG Modular System Series 8000
In many years of practical application the HAMEG Modular System Series 8000 has proven its value to the customer. The advantages of this modular system have been demonstrated by several 100,000 modules sold. The unexcelled price-performance ratio and the enormous flexibility of the plug-in system allow you to adapt your measurement set-ups quickly and cost effectively to changing requirements. You save space by stacking up to 5 instruments. This will offer you 10 instruments on a minimum of space.
The blank module HM800 is available for your own designs to be integrated with the other measuring instruments. The power supply voltages necessary are available from the mainframe.

HAMEG Programmable Measuring Instruments
HAMEG Programmable Measuring Instruments Series 8100 are ideally suited for test installations in production and automated tests in laboratories. They support either a RS-232 or an IEEE-488 interface and thus may be easily integrated in any test system.
In combination with other HAMEG measuring instruments which have an interface high performance test systems may be easily and cost effectively set up. Of course, any of these instruments can be operated manually and used in laboratories.
