HAMEG: 50 YEARS OF SUCCESS WITH MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

With pride HAMEG Instruments GmbH presents its 50 years' history of success. In 1957 Karl Hartmann founded HAMEG GmbH in his little shop at Frankfurt/Main profiting from the "Economic Miracle" of the post war era. His first product was a 5 MHz single-channel oscilloscope which he designed, built, and sold himself, at that time quite innovative in Europe.

During the years following HAMEG became quickly renowned by innovative oscilloscope types which combined a high degree of reliability and quality sofar unknown. These products were sold first on the European market especially because of their outstanding performance-to-price ratio.

Today, HAMEG is firmly established as a designer and manufacturer of measuring instruments for industry, science, universities and schools. Since many years HAMEG serves the world market from its headquarters at Mainhausen in the Rhein - Main area. Product design and manufacturing are concentrated in Germany (Chemnitz, Mainhausen, Münchenbernsdorf), our customers are locally served by a world-wide network of service and distribution partners.

The enduring success of HAMEG is based upon the principles of "Sensitivity, Accuracy, Quality and, last not least, Simplicity". Our philosophy: to design electronic measuring instruments which combine not only an excellent performance with reliablity but also with flexibility fulfilling thus all needs in laboratory, production, and test sites.

HAMEG measuring instruments concentrate on the essential. We strive to keep the operation of our instruments as simple as possible without omitting necessary functions.

In 2005 the aged founder, Karl Hartmann, withdrew, the Munich based Rohde &. Schwarz electronics concern bought the company. Since 1 April 2005 HAMEG operates officially as HAMEG Instruments GmbH.

In 2005 the company's founder Karl Hartmann steps down for reasons of age and the german electronics company Rohde & Schwarz takes over HAMEG GmbH. The company's name changes to HAMEG Instruments GmbH.
